Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Fundusol’s process for connecting a landowner to a solar developer and/or farmer?

Fundusol conducts a thorough vetting and due diligence process to match landowners with the right solar
developers and farmers. We ensure that both parties align with your goals and the land’s needs to create a
successful, sustainable partnership.

Will installing solar panels disrupt current agriculture activity? How long does it take to install a project?

No, agrivoltaic systems are designed to complement farming activities. Depending on the system, solar panels may be spaced to allow continued crop cultivation or livestock grazing, minimizing disruption. Installation timelines vary but are completed with minimal impact on agricultural productivity.

Will there be livestock added to my land?

This depends on the system design and your preferences. Small livestock, such as sheep, can be integrated
for grazing around the panels, but we customize the system based on your land’s needs and the type of
agriculture you prefer.

Will I be responsible for maintaining the vegetation around solar panels?

You’ll only be responsible for vegetation maintenance if you’re actively farming the land.

Who comes in to take care of the panels? How often will they be there?

A professional maintenance team will be responsible for taking care of the solar panels. The frequency of their
visits depends on the system and its specific requirements, but typically, maintenance is performed a few times
a year to ensure everything is running smoothly. Solar panels usually require cleaning 2–4 times a year.

How long does a project last? What happens at the end of the project cycle?

A typical project spans 25 to 35 years, with 25 years being a common lifespan for a solar installation to remain
in operation.

I don’t live on my land. Can Fundusol still find me a solar company and farmer?

Yes. Fundusol utilizes its network of farmers and developers to find you parties to see your project to success.

I have specific ideas about how my land is farmed. Is that okay?

Yes, your input is important to us. We work closely with you to align the system design with your specific
farming practices, ensuring that agricultural and energy production goals are met.

I don’t currently farm my land. Who will pay for the farmer and all their costs (irrigation, seed, fertilizer, equipment, etc.)?

The farmer managing your land will cover these expenses, including irrigation, seed, fertilizer, and equipment.
Additionally, agrivoltaic systems can help reduce irrigation costs, as the shade from solar panels mitigates
drought stress by reducing water loss through evapotranspiration.

How noisy or disruptive will solar daily operation and maintenance be?

Solar operations are generally quiet, and maintenance is performed only when necessary. We will consult with
you to schedule maintenance at convenient times to minimize any disruption.
